Exothermix Welding / Thermite welding is welding between two rail rods through a chemical reaction using thermite. This method is carried out with simple materials and produces a good connection. The reaction is as follows: Fe₂O₃ + 2 Al → 2 Fe + Al₂O₃ + 850 kJ
